Also known as ‘frozen shoulder’—more common in females and between 40 and 70 years of age.
Clinically characterised by a restriction of both active and passive elevation/external rotation. Associated with previous trauma and diabetes. It arises due to thickening of the coracohumeral ligament and joint capsule.
MRI (WITH OR WITHOUT ARTHROGRAPHY)
• Thickened coracohumeral ligament
• Synovial/joint capsule thickening
• Obliteration of the fat triangle inferior to the coracoid
