Bilateral lambdoid or coronal synostosis giving a short, wide head.
Accounts for 20% of synostoses.
Associated with a higher incidence of neurological abnormalities compared to scaphocephaly.
Lateral skull x-ray showing enlargement of the skull with fusion of the coronal sutures and frontal bossing. This form of craniosynostosis is known as brachycephaly.
