Lung cancer is the most common cause of cancer death worldwide. Mostly diagnosed when the disease is advanced, a minority (about 10%) are picked up incidentally. Lung cancer is divided broadly into two groups: non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC; 85%) and small-cell lung cancer (SCLC).
