Relatively common primary soft tissue malignancy; the typical age at presentation is 15-35 years. Patients present with a slow-growing soft tissue mass, most commonly at the knee.
PLAIN FILM
• Often normal, especially with small lesions.
• 30% of lesions contain calcification.
• Periostitis (non-aggressive appearance) of the underlying bone indicates bone involvement.
MRI
• Multi-lobulated soft tissue mass, heterogeneous T1 and T2 signal
• May contain fluid-fluid levels
• Prominent heterogeneous enhancement with contrast
