Causes
• Scirrhous cancer is most common.
• Tumours (lymphoma, breast and lung metastases, pancreatic).
• Inflammation (erosive gastritis, radiation therapy).
• Ingestion (corrosives, iron ingestion).
• Infiltrative disease (sarcoid, amyloid, Crohn disease, intramural haematoma).
• Infection (tuberculosis, syphilis).
