Mild holoprosencephaly (very similar to lobar type). It is a combination of a hypoplastic optic nerve, an absent septum pellucidum and a hypoplastic pituitary. Presents with a visual defect, pituitary dysfunction (45%) and seizures.
• Small optic chiasm and nerves
• Absent septum pellucidum
• Ectopic posterior pituitary
• Associated with cortical abnormalities in up to 90%, most commonly schizencephaly
