PLAIN FILM

• Second metatarsal head most commonly affected (third or fourth also).
• Initial flattening and cystic lesions in the metatarsal head with widening of the metatarsophalangeal joint.
• Sclerosis and cortical thickening are late features.
• Osteochondral fragment.
