Numerous enchondromas, particularly in the hands, this is often unilateral and monomelic (affects one limb only). It causes pain and deformity (including Madelung) and there is an increased risk of malignant transformation (osteosarcoma for young adults, chondrosarcoma or fibrosarcoma for older adults). It is associated with juvenile granulosa cell ovarian tumours.
