Most commonly affects the temporal lobe, with a propensity for the limbic system and inferolateral frontal lobes. CT scan may be negative for 3 days. MRI should be positive in 2 days.
• Non-specific high T2 and low T1 signal in the medial temporal lobes/inferior frontal lobes.
• Lesions restrict on DWI.
• Small focal haemorrhages are common.
