Common, benign vascular malformation; may arise in any organ. The vertebral bodies and skull are the most commonly affected bones. Usually asymptomatic, but a rare cause of cord compression from haemorrhage or soft tissue extension.
PLAIN FILM

•  Mildly expansile.
•  Thoracic spine is typical.
•  Coarse vertical trabeculations, ‘corduroy appearance’.
•  Paget disease has a similar appearance, but the cortex is spared with a haemangioma.

CT

•  Polka dot’ appearance on axial slices

MRI

•  Vertical trabecular thickening
•  High signal on T1 and T2 from intratumoural fat (variable)
