In total, 90% of cases are secondary, mostly by haematogenous metastases (mostly non-Hodgkin lymphoma). Mostly asymptomatic, 60% complete remission after treatment. Look for lymphoma elsewhere—liver, lung, central nervous system, bones, etc.
US
• Diffuse renal enlargement with early disease, more discrete mass with late disease
• Less likely to cause venous thrombosis compared to RCC
• Expect lymph node enlargement and splenomegaly
CT
• Diffuse renal enlargement or poorly enhancing renal lesion with lymph node enlargement
• Splenomegaly
