Very rare when idiopathic. The pattern is more commonly seen in patients with Sjogren syndrome or who are immunocompromised (e.g. HIV) and have chronic, active hepatitis. More common in women.
Plain film
• Non-specific, reticular or reticulo-nodular opacities
HRCT
• The classic duo is: (1) diffuse ground-glass opacification; and (2) thin-walled perivascular cysts.
• Centrilobular nodules, septal thickening and pleural effusions are less common.
