More commonly involved by direct invasion from cervical, uterine or rectal tumours. Primary vaginal cancer is rare and mostly SCC, with a minority being adenocarcinoma. Tends to affect postmenopausal women.
MRI
• Exophytic intermediate signal mass, disrupts normal low T2 signal vaginal wall.
• Tends to arise from the upper posterior wall.
• Look for fistulation to the bladder.
