Rare—however, it is the most common peritoneal primary. Associated with asbestos (50%) and radiation therapy; prognosis is poor.
CT
• Diffusely thickened/nodular peritoneum, omentum and mesentery
• Foci of calcification
• Pleural thickening
• Often no ascites (therefore can be distinguished from secondary disease)
• Invades adjacent organs
