Splenic cysts may be primary (e.g. hydatid, epidermoid or lymphangioma) or secondary (e.g. post-trauma, infarction or adjacent pancreatitis). They represent the end stage of a disease process.
• Well-defined, rounded.
• Curvilinear rim calcification.
• Low-level internal echoes.
• Lymphangiomas tend to be subcapsular.
CT
• Low-density lesion (20 HU) showing no enhancement
• Rim calcification
