These are the most common benign neoplasms of the spleen. Large lesions may rupture. Associated with Kasabach-Merritt syndrome. Imaging characteristics are identical to hepatic haemangioma.
CT
• Early peripheral nodular enhancement with central filling in on delayed scans
MRI
• Lesions are low signal on T1 and high signal on T2.
• Lobulated margin.
• Enhancement characteristics as for CT.
