- Seen near cricopharyngeus and arises at right angles from the anterior oesophageal wall.
- Plummer-Vinson syndrome is characterised by oesophageal webs, iron-deficiency anaemia, stomatitis, glossitis, dysphagia, thyroid disorders and spoon-shaped nails.
- Temporary symptom relief can be achieved with balloon angioplasty.
