80% occur in the superficial lobe. Up to 20% undergo malignant degeneration.

• Hypoechoic multiloculated mass
Sialogram
• Clawed fist appearance
CT
• Well-defined, homogeneous mass that is slightly higher attenuation than muscle
MRI
• Usually bright on T2 (differentiates it from parotid malignancy, which is hypo-intense)
• Iso-intense to muscle on T1 sequences
• Avid enhancement with contrast
