Non-atherosclerotic disease affecting the arterial wall, most commonly involving mid-distal renal arteries. Associated with collagen vascular diseases. Tends to affect young women. Presents with refractory hypertension.
INTERVENTION
• Classic appearance is the ‘string of beads’ sign (this is pathognomic), made up of multiple stenoses and dilated segments.
• Responds well to angioplasty.
