Waldenström macroglobulinemia, previously also known as lymphoplasmacytic lymphoma, is a type of B-cell lymphoma.
This condition is a rare, malignant monoclonal gammopathy where there are pathological levels of circulating IgM, elevated serum viscosity and lymphoplasmacytic infiltrate in the bone marrow.
BARIUM FOLLOW-THROUGH
• Micronodularity and fold thickening
CT
• Non-specific lymph node enlargement
• Hepatosplenomegaly
• Infiltration of the spine is seen in 90% (replacement of the normal fatty bone marrow and bone infarcts).
